Concourse golf founder David MacKay came to us with a clear identification of a product opportunity and a vision.

Bulky, traditional-style golf buggies thieve space in the car and at home and take considerable time to pack, unpack and store. The alternatives lacked appeal: hiring an often ugly and rusty buggy prior to tee-off can be a nuisance, drive carts defeat the benefit of exercise whilst damaging the cost equation; and carrying a Stand Bag around the course is less than ideal.

Concourse Founder David MacKay spent years experiencing and observing golfers’ frustration with the shortcomings of traditional golf buggies. Clearly these hassles represented a tipping point for time-poor golfers constantly grappling with justifications to squeeze-in a round of golf.

There just had to be a better way to golf…

MacKay outlined the benefits of a unique, compact buggy that would be strong yet lightweight; a buggy that would easily attach to the golf bag – to any golf bag. It would need to be slimline, stylish and discreet enough to remain with the bag permanently. The buggy frame itself would be a one-touch operation to easily open or to close, and it would seamlessly close completely flush with the golf bag: lightweight and stylish enough to remain there. Saving space and time; an inspiration for golfers to play more golf.

The innovative patented light weight die cast aluminium design developed by neo industrial design meets all of MacKays ambitious challenges; at just over 2kg and the size of a cricket bat the unique compact design of the Concourse Golf Buggy is a world first in golfing convenience and style that enables golfers to save space and time. Close collaboration between the client and Neo Industrial Design has set a new standard in golf buggy style and convenience resulted in the creation of “golf’s most refined buggy”.

The concourse golf buggy has since been adopted by Italian car maker Maserati as part of their accessory range and in May 2013 won a Good Design Award and an Australian International Design Award.
