We recently volunteered to 3D print an arm for Felix – it’s an open source design from enabling the future developed by the Rochester Institute of Technology which we modified to match his dimensions.
With over 20 individual moving parts it works much like a real arm with nylon cables for tendons, we were really impressed with the way so many small prototype parts went together. Many parts are so small they printed in just a couple of minutes – this resulted in the biggest challenge which was putting them together with adult fingers.
Obviously Felix is a serious South Sydney Rabbitohs supporter.
